Mistaken Identity
On Saturday and Sunday, September 8-9, 2012 Blue Milk Special’s creators (that’s Rod and Leanne Hannah) will be at Baltimore Comic Con. We will have BMS prints, along with other non-Star Wars pop culture prints for sale as well. Proceeds sustain the website and convention costs.
The coolest item will be The Art of Leanne Hannah 2012 Sketchbook (pictured left) containing 32 interior pages of recent sketches. This is a nice way for readers to support Leanne and Blue Milk Special. If you can’t get to the show to pick up a copy in person, you will also be available to purchase a copy online after the show. We will throw in one of the brand new glossy BMS promo cards for free. 🙂
If you can make it to the show, you will find us in Artist Alley at table A96. We don’t make as many appearances anymore, so if you are interested in getting a sketch you will need to catch us at Baltimore and make the most of the opportunity. We love to meet BMS readers and find out what you guys really like about the comic. Also, if I look tired and miserable, don’t take it personally. I have been told I have a face like the Queen. I also live on pain meds for my spine. Chances are, I am smiling on the inside when you see me. 🙂
Set phasers on DORK!
This makes me wonder: did they actually eat with Vader, after Han tried to blast him, or were they immediately taken into custody and treated fairly (under the Coruscant Convention)?
Come on! They all sat down and had dinner and reminisced about the Yavin IV battle. 😉 The real question is, did they stay for dessert?
Of course they did. Many movies and other fiction show the hero and villian sitting down together for dinner. Usually its done in the vilian’s opulant domicile, or someplace they have control. Often times the villian reveals his nefarious plans or part of them to the hero during this exchange. Mostly this is for the benefit of the audience so they understand what is at stake or the villian’s motivation. Classic stuff! James Bond movies do this all the time.
In the case of Vader, he was not going to reveal his plan, but he did want to increase the level of fear and anxiety among his captives. Prolonging their time before their torture will create dread. All of it will create an elevated emotional state in the captives, which Vader knows Luke will sense, wherever he is, and respond to it.
Anybody else hear James Earl Jones’ voice in their heads when they read “Don’t lie to me, Calrissian!”?
Most definately!
Sometimes people just have to believe what they want to believe.
I can believe that!
@Bill I just checked out your comic “Casually Employed”, pretty cool!
wonder if this is going to end up with the Falcon’s hyperdrive never able to be fixed so “Picard” and Lando show up in the Enterprise to save the day (oh and no need to catch Luke from the weathervane thing… “Chewie, ready transporters- energize!”)
hahaha! That’s great! I love how you portray Vader as far less menacing. That mug really helps too!
Was the answer “On board the Enterprise” so difficult?
That could lead to some awkward moments… Vader: “The Enterprise is coming here? You will take me to the Enterprise now.”
