BMS End Credits
Here it is. The day we finally conclude the Original Trilogy parody. 8 years, and 1 month in the making (not including lead time before we originally debuted). Where do we go from here? I’ll let you know next week, but rest assured, we’re not done. Star Wars is a big place, after all. Check back on Monday for an announcement of our plans… and for a new strip.
I could get all reminiscent and mushy on you with a nostalgic post, talking about all the good times and all the bad times. But what Leanne and I are both most thankful for are the fellow fans who we probably would never have met had we not decided to draw cartoons every week for the better part of a decade. Right now, I think we’d rather hear what you have to say than ramble about the sense of completion. I’m temporarily allowing comments. See below.
*stands and begins applause*
It’s been a hell of a ride so far, and I am so thankful that I found BMS to be able to hang on and share the journey you’ve taken us on so far.
Where you take us from here, I’m not sure, but I look forward to the trip.
Likewise I am grateful for the friendships that would not have been made otherwise and, in my own small way helping keep it all going.
Thank You, Rod & Leanne.
You’re welcome, Graeme. And thanks for helping us make it to the end!
What a ride! It’s been magnificent. Thanks to you both and to everybody in the credits.
Thank you, Jim! Maybe the ride’s not over? 🙂
I only recently came across BMS, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to seeing what you do next!
Thanks, Stnzard. Glad you found us. Maybe we can get you to stick around?
Thank you for this epic work. Congratulation on finishing this masterfull trilogy. And you guys managed to do it faster than the originals 😛
Hah! I didn’t know that. An interesting fact to remember. And we only had an army of two, plus a bit of logistical support from fans.
Congratulations on 8 years of BMS! Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with next. I hope that Thrawn teaser means you’ll be attacking the Zahn trilogy. 🙂
All things going well, then you should be happy with our next chapter. Although there will be a slight interlude with a side story first.
Thrawn trilogy FTW! I was hoping that teaser would mean good things still to come!
I’m still excited to see where Biggs and Oona go next as well. Glad to stick with you all–and may the Forciness be with you!
Oh, too soon! I really wasn’t ready for this.
It’s not over until Jabba’s wife sings.
Thrawn? Woohoo!
Yep, the blue-skinned wonder. We talked to Timothy Zahn about our plans several years ago. We hope we can realize them.
Heir to the Empire? Please? Please tell us you’re doing that. They were the finest books ever written under the Star Wars label, please let them be canon to BMS, since Disney tossed them in to the garbage compactor. Please…
Definitely among the better books from the EU. We aim to please.
Congratulations on completing BMS! (Or the ‘Original Trilogy’)
Been following the comic for a long time and I’m happy that I got to see it through to the end of Jedi. It’s been real fun and the alternative take on events has been hilarious. The fact that you’ve been able to find original jokes and takes on the saga is really impressive. The drawing and writing has always been consistently excellent and Leanne is amazing at capturing the spirit of the characters (and their expressions).
I’m sorry to see and read about all the difficulties you’ve been having with the medical expenses–it really sucks. But thank you for always keeping going with BMS. It’s been a real pleasure to read and I look forward to seeing where you go with it next.
May the Force be with you both! 🙂
We have our irons in a couple of fires right now. But you’ll be pleased to know we still have an iron in the BMS fire. Okay, enough metaphorical babbling. Thanks for reading and we’re really glad you enjoyed the ride through the Original Trilogy. And thanks for the commiserations on the medical stuff. BMS is therapeutic for me, so it’s hard to let go.
Wow! The end of an era. Thank you Leanne and Rod for providing so much entertainment through so much. Your dedication is inspiring. Good luck with your next endeavor.

Thanks, Aharon. We may need the luck, so we’ll take it. 🙂
Thank you for a wonderful story and fun adventure!
It’s been a wild ride, and I hope to see more from your studio soon!
😀
We have no plans to stop making stories. Hopefully BMS continues to be one of them. Don’t forget us! 🙂
Thanks for the ride guys, back when you started on RoTJ, and I knew your stance on the Prequels, I was worried that this would be the end.
I can’t wait to see what comes next in the BMSEU, if it’s up to your usual standard, it won’t fall short odf awesome.
Not quite the absolute end. But from here on out, we will be taking it one step at a time. Thanks for the support. 🙂
I love the acronym BMSEU. 🙂
And such a wonderful ride it was! I discovered BMS around.. oh , mid ROTJ , but immediately I went back and read all the old strips. Such a wonderful comic!
And as for doing Heir to the Empire , YES! The Chiss are my favorite humanoid race in Star Wars mostly because of how amazing Thrawn is , I’d absolutely to see a BMS Heir to the Empire done. Much , MUCH more than any of the Disney stuff.
Well, as your not likely to get it from Disney, we will give it a shot, if we can. More soon.
The Thrawn!
The one and only.
Nice, finished my archive binge on ROTJ’s end credits. That’s probably the best timing I’ve ever had in my life.
That’s some crazy timing. And yet, we have one more final end credits scene for you tomorrow.
I’m still traumatized over Muggy’s fate.
HOW COULD YOU?! YOU KILLED MUGGY, YOU &*&^%^$@!!!
Force ghost Muggy… Somehow, I doubt he’ll have the same capacity.
Seriously, thanks for all the laughs over the years, get better, and let the art flow!
You’re welcome, Sarge. So glad you’re still with us after being part of this ride from near the beginning. At least Vader’s ghost has Muggy. 🙂
Oh, hey, comments are back!
Indeed. It’s been a long time. Sometime we would get less than friendly comments which didn’t help our motivation. Turning them off helped us get to the end of Return of the Jedi, so it was worth the inconvenience to fans, but at the same time, sorry to block even the good willed comments.
I’m Paul D. (Domalavage) and I approve this message………..
It’s been a long journey. I can remember way back in 2012 when Josh and I were passing out BMS art cards at Celebration VI. Working on the BMS Wookieepedia page with Mr. Milk Cartons Gatto, and now as I get ready for Celebration VIII to pass out some more art cards like I did at Celebration VII it all concludes….For now anyways……The Unofficial/Official smoking jawa looks forward to what’s next…….
You’ll always be the OFFICIAL smoking jawa in our book, Paul. You and Josh are our field operatives, BMS special tactics division. Have fun at Celebration!
Congratulations! I love the work you both do, from BMS to Hickory! Excited to see your next project.
Thanks, Chris. So glad you enjoyed Hickory Hippo as well. Hopefully you’ll like our new project just as much.
I know you guys prefer the EU, but have you heard about/have an opinion about a version of Grand Admiral Thrawn being brought into the new continuity?
Your name is hilarious! And I guess our stance on Thrawn in Disney canon is that it’s fine. The ORIGINAL Thrawn will always exist as Timothy Zahn intended him to be. However Thrawn changes, it will just be part of a separate alternate universe, just like the rest of the Disney Star Wars output. As far as we are concerned, everything other than the Original Trilogy is alternate Star Wars. Take it or leave it. Love it or loathe it. It doesn’t need to invalidate anything from the past just because someone at the top decides to mark something as canon or non-canon. If someone loves the Prequels, that’s fine. If someone loves everything with the Star Wars logo, that’s fine. We each have things we love about Star Wars more than others. For those of us who derive great joy from a specific part of the franchise, there is no harm in paying the rest little heed. Whatever happens with Thrawn… for example, let’s say they bring him back with the lower half of his body replaced by robotic spider legs… then that’s fine for those that like it…. whoever those people are. 😉
Of course.
But I was more wondering not about your opinion of Disney’s choice to use the character, but if you had watched/had any intention of watching any of the Thrawn-centric episodes and/or reading Timothy Zahn’s new book: Thrawn (coming out next week) and giving an opinion on how well or poorly you think they portrayed him.
Maul’s Legs, I had totally missed that Zahn was doing a Thrawn book for the NewEU! I haven’t followed much of it yet, but I have a feeling that one will be worth picking up.
FWIW, there’s a lot of the new cannon that I could take or leave, but the one character I’d love to see get some love in the BMSEU who could have overlapped with the Zahn trilogy had she existed in time is Ahsoka Tano. I know some people thought she was annoying in Clone Wars, but I think she’s awesome, and she’s probably my favorite non-original-trilogy character outside of Mara Jade.
Anyone else thinking– Canon Thrawn vs Legends Thrawn should FIGHT
Wouldn’t that fight really be decided by whose underlings had the most loyalty, obedience, and ability to stick to plan?
I would love to see BMSs take on Mara Jade. Loved the interpretation of Leia – Jade is a goldmine.
#MaraJadeLives
Felicidades! All I can say is what a ride and thank you for a very smart, cute and funny parody. I’ve read you since 2010, but never had it in me to post a comment, but I felt it neccesary to express my thanks for continuing dispite all the ups and downs you guys had.
Teared up a bit here. Do you guys think you could maybe do a few Clone Wars panels?
Congratulations and thanks for your fun trilogy, plus more! In a fandom that can sometimes take itself too seriously, it was fun to come here and see a sillier, irreverent take. I also like how you basically made your own alternate SW universe! I spent the last few years reading/watching every variation of the fiction of G.I. Joe, so I think I’ve come to appreciate all sorts of different takes on a franchise. “Canon” doesn’t really mean much to me. It’s all fake anyway, right? 🙂
Thanks for all the wonderful work you’ve done 🙂 I checked BMS website almost everyday for the last few of years and was always very happy to see a new comic. You really did an amazing job with it. I hope to see more of it (Heir to the Empire?) 🙂
This was an amazing journey!! I binged all the strips there were last year, and kept checking back ever since. It’s a great parody and homage. You guys even inspired a fic! And damn… it got a bit too real in that last Han/Leia panel :’) Thanks for the laughs, I’ll keep checking back.
Amazing. I’ve been reading BMS for years and it’s gratifying to see you finish the original trilogy. Now I’m just hoping that where you go from here is…directly away from any of the new movies and to the old EU canon ^_^.
Fantastic Job. I have been reading for years now and it has been great reading. I wish you luck in whatever project you choose to take on next.
This has been a glorious journey and I am ever grateful for our most talented guides. Rod and Leanne, you have done a wonderful thing by bringing this comic to life. I still think about some of the strips regularly and laugh out loud. Which brings up a question – what happened to all the background sci-fi heroes (I assume all of the baddies died in the Death Star)? Most importantly, where did the Tardis end up? I had a vision of it showing up on Tatooine and being saved by Biggs and Ooola and William Hartnell running away with Oola as his new companion… Anyway, You guys are awesome, Keep it up, and I will continue to spread the Blue Milk Special love (and not in a smoking Jawa kinda way).
