Boba vs IG88
Hope you enjoy today’s strip! You might also like to check out a rare, previously unpublished IG88 appearance…
From Wookieepedia…
In 3 ABY, IG-88 was commissioned to find the Millennium Falcon. However, IG-88 was beaten to the Han Solo bounty by Boba Fett. IG-88B was destroyed on Bespin by Fett in retaliation for attempting to track him. IG-88s C and D engaged Fett in orbit over Tatooine in identical models of the IG-2000 in attempt to steal the carbonite containing Solo, but were defeated. C was destroyed first. IG-88D then launched a surprise attack, but in the end its ship was also destroyed by Boba Fett’s Slave I, in a maneuver in which Fett pretended to have been killed.
Hey:
Somewhere I have a Pop Up Book, of this strip!
Solo and Fett were probably a lot alike, this would explain why they loathed each other so much. 🙂
Reading the Wookieepedia article, it sounds like IG-88 and the Terminator are one in the same
Loved every panel – stupid IG-88s!
Protocol droids, bounty hunter droids, they all do freakin’ math. They should save it for the math droids!
I’m suprised you never published that IG88 comic. It was really funny!
I love IG88 – ergo, I love this strip.
*snort*
You know, with that unpublished strip, you and Leanne do make a point. IG-88 kind of does look like an espresso machine. X D
I was very disappointed reading Tales of the Bounty Hunter that IG-88 was not a very good assassin droid.
I was always fascinated by the idea of the character, but the execution was lacking imo.
It’s always seemed to me that droid manufacture and design in the Republic/Empire had very poor quality control. Most all of them seemed to be poor to terrible at their assigned task, and completely useless outside of their narrow area of specialization. R2D2 seems to have been the only one highly competent in multiple functions in the entire galaxy.
Cool to see this character in a comic strip. I actually had the action figure. I wondered who he was.
oh, i assumed it wasn’t actually coffee…
The assassin droid head/Cantina coffe machine also showed up in the charred skeleton Owen and Beru shot!
Just saw a still of it recently on Facebook. One commenter said “Oh, they showed up EVERYWHERE.”
Slave 1 looks great!! Nice to see it again with out that Jango malarkey on it!
Hi-LAR-ious strip!! LOL!
