Capes
Well, the website was the victim of a forced upgrade by our webhost which resulted in the breaking of our ComicPress theme. After 24 hours of being broken, we were able to fix it, but the navigation arrows for previous and next strips are missing. For now, please use the calendar app on the right side bar to navigate strips, or the archive section in the menu above.
Just goes to show, you never know what might happen just around the corner. In the meantime, you can continue to follow us via Patreon with a subscription of your choice and keep ahead of the website.
Here’s an excerpt from the GoFundMe campaign I’ve set up:
We’ve been publishing our sci-fi funnies for free online for over six years, bringing more than 700 strips, and hopefully more than 700 laughs to our readers. We have used our readership to support various charities and raise awareness of those in need. Along the way, we have made a ton of friends and given an outlet to our creative expression.
On Monday 17th of August, our website was broken when a forced upgrade was pushed down on us by our webhost. WordPress and the ComicPress theme that power our website are essential to keep it going, but the new version will not work with ComicPress without extensive programming by a qualified expert– our go to webdesigner. The website can not last long in its current state. We also need website backups and WordSafe protection to ensure we don’t lose everything before the next mandatory upgrade is pushed down by our webhost. The hours necessary for this work will be expensive and too much for us to handle alone.
As I mentioned above, Blue Milk Special is free for everyone and what little financial support we do get goes toward keeping the project alive. It’s not just 700 strips, blogs, and thousands of comments that are in danger of being lost. It is also 6 years of work and love. That’s why I am hoping that we will not be alone and can count on the incredible charity of our fans for support.
Our goal of $650 is only an estimate and the final cost could go well over that. But if any money is left over, it will go towards future website maintenance expenses and be of huge benefit to the project.
This is an urgent call to arms. If you can spare anything, then now is the time!
I blame the cape. “No Capes!”
Already things are going wrong, first it’s navigation (between strips), next you will tell me our favorite trooper in-a-cape cannot fly.
Whew! I thought you had changed your site, and my cheap internet tablet couldn’t read it. So glad BMS is back to normal!
Thank goodness for the calendar! Of all the buttons to disappear, it had to be previous and next strip… XD Hope you get that fixed soon! May the Force be with you
I hope so too. I don’t know what I’m doing.
It’s just too bad that Cape Trooper and Biggs will never meet. They have so much in common! (Unless they have met and I’m forgetting that, which is always possible.)
Don’t say it will never happen! 😉
Holy crap, I’m in love with a drawing…(facepalm)
😀
Capes were practical wear for blocking wind and rain, to keep your clothes dry. Same with cloaks and long jackets.
For someone in armor, a cape would be helpful for that too. Keeping crap out dropping from above and getting into the armor.
Also, capes make wonderful impromptu blankets for naps! I have regularly worn a cape before and found that out myself.
Cape Trooper is TK8008 isn’t he?
Yeah. He’s not called Cape Trooper. He’s TK 8008, aka White Vader.
I know that everyone’s focusing on the cape, but all I really notice when I look at the strip is the fact that the trooper talking to TK 8008 is about half a head to a full head shorter than him (Depending on how large their heads are under the helmets. After all, I doubt that they’re made to fit perfectly.). And all that is running through my mind is “Aren’t you a little short to be a stormtrooper?”.

I don’t have 1 credit. Will my firstborn son do?
Cha-ching. More for the jar.
I wonder what Davros would look like in the Emperor’s cloak and hood instead of his leather jacket…
