Cold engine
Last week we had an Earthquake and a Hurricane on the East Coast, and this week we are getting floods from a tropical storm. Last night much of the West Coast suffered a huge power outage… Some people would have us believe it is a sign that the end of the world is nigh, but I suspect it has something to do with George Lucas’ Blu Ray re-releases of the Original Trilogy. Lucas has given me new ideas for his BMS cartoon counterparts which will appear in the webcomic in the near future. 😀 I also have a resolution to Old Lucas’ meddling, but it will have to wait a year or so until the end of ROTJ… if we get that far!
More Blue Milk Special Milk Cartons!
T. Gatto sends us his latest paper milk carton creations, inspired by General Veers, Phantom Luke, Snowtrooper TK8008, Deathstar Gunner, and Hammerhead. He suggests “Veers needs some big googly eyes, from a craft store, glued on.” If you make it, we want a photo! Don’t forget to check out more at Blue Milk Carton on FaceBook.
For our newer readers, we just want to let you know that Blue Milk Special is listed with Top Web Comics, one of the largest webcomic listings and ranking sites. By voting for us daily you help us climb the chart and get more exposure. It’s a simple way to reach a webcomic reading audience and stay on the radar. We add new voting incentive strips and pinups now and then, like the current Kill Bill inspired piece. We would also welcome the assistance of any readers who would like to list us with other webcomic collectives as our own time is spread very thin with our day jobs and other creative projects. Just shoot us an email.
Awesome strip today.
George can make more amendments if he wishes, just as long as they include 3PO with a deep bass voice so that he can utter ‘Damn….’ the way I imagine it, and insert digital Biggs’ everywhere to keep Gatto happy.
I think he should re-cast Rod as a Biggs Double for the Extra-Special edition.
I would re-cast the whole trilogy, but I’d rather hear what the other BMSr’s think (Neil, you should be crumb though).
Neil would definitely be Crumb. I like it!
*Many years later response* Lucas and his neckpouch will never again touch the series! Even though it may be in the hands of a much darker, dangerous entity, never again will the devil’s wattles be around to damage the series we love.
The old pop-the-clutch trick! It was a pretty snarky and unhelpful thing for the princess to say. He’s only trying to save her life! And when it starts, instead of being grateful, she’s like “someday you’re going to be wrong about something and I hope I see it.” And this while they’re being shot at!
She was a little annoying during the beginning of Empire, but I’m sorry “would it help if I got out and pushed” is just funny.
Oops, meant to say that I like how BMS Han called her on it though. 🙂
(Also, someone needs to take the films away from Lucas and pin his arms to his sides.)
I suppose it’s because she’s scared. I would have thought Jimmy Smits would have raised her to handle pressure better than that, though!
Just wondering about the date, is it an old strip finally released?
Oh shoot. I must have been working with one of last years strips as a template. Thanks for that.
This scene did always seem odd and campy in the movie. It works here though ;P
On a semi-unrelated note: I went to one of Carrie Fisher’s panels at Dragon*con this weekend and wanted to ask what she thought of BMS Leia (after a brief description of course in case she hasn’t been asked yet – though I’m assuming she has).
Alas, the panel ran out of time before I could ask. Just as well as I’m not sure how uncouth such a question would be.
Personally, given her deadpan humor I think she’d find your version a homage well executed.
(And speaking of “executed” I’m loving the “Kill George” poster) 😉
Yikes! What if she saw one of our bad strips and she didn’t dare delve any deeper? :-/ Hard to convey all the nuances of BMS with a single strip as I’m sure they vary wildly in quality. Thanks for the intent to share it with her though. I feel that she would generally approve of the BMS parody if she got a chance to really look at it. Garrick Hagon is the other guy I would be most excited to share BMS with. Carrie trumps him though. She’s legendary.
Wonder if he ever checked it out last March?
It certainly would prove fortuitous if indeed it helped that she got out and pushed. Good luck getting back into the Falcon once it was jump-started.
BMS is still on the Links page on my site. I give it an honorable spot as this is one of my favorites in the world of Webcomics.
Just a random thought… Any chance of old Carrie Fisher making an appearence? 😮
