HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN WILLIAMS!
The other night I was listening to his score for the rebel attack on the Death Star and the trench run. Leanne mentioned it is the composer’s birthday today. I shouldn’t have to tell anyone who John Williams is, given that he not only gave us the Star Wars theme, but the themes for Jaws, Indiana Jones, Home Alone and Harry Potter.
I think I’ll listen to the trench run again!
So, the feedback from last blog’s question, concerning readers favorite BMS characters, has yielded results. Vader and Biggs win followed by Han and Chewie. It was nice to see Leia getting a mention. It also helps us to have an idea about who needs more time in the spotlight.
I’m glad Vader has been received so well. In truth, I can’t remember where the idea to give him the coffee cup came from, although it was Leanne’s idea to stick the Star Trek logo on it. I think the idea for the cup must have just crept into the sixth strip when I was writing the scene with Captain Antilles. The idea of Vader strangling a rebel while holding his morning latte just seemed like gold.
Keep those comments coming regarding your favorite BMS characters. I have another question for you guys this week and that is which supporting characters would you like to see return?

Hehe, too bad the droid can do only one face 😛
I’ll try to get more out of C3PO’s expressions in the future! 🙂
It’s not a bad thing – rather makes the shock more apparent, I’d say 🙂
To be fair, I did notice his hand but didn’t mention it.
I happened to notice the difference in the SIZE of C3PO’s eyes between panel 3 & the other panels. That’s pretty good expressionism, considering that his eyes are manufactured pieces of hardware…
I love that Lea is holding a bucket of chicken.
It’s finger licking good!
Governor Tarkin! Governor Tarkin!!! I know he’s got one more appearance left in the sequence of events coming up, but you’ve just gotta bring him and his cheekbones back once more! And the slippers. X )
Don’t worry, Karen. Tarkin is my favorite villain and as long as you stay reading long enough, you will see him AND his slippers again.
Yay! He’s eeee-vil, but positively adorable besides. X )
I am forwarding the cached results- it is coming from my work email, hehe, I have lots to do today…it will be starting with my name Kris…etc…not sure if you see the email listed on the site, but it is similar.
Hope these help.
I really hope we get to see a Blue Milk Special Boba Fett, I can’t imagine how cool that will be.
Oh yea and I can’t wait to see your take on Admiral Ackbar.
I can’t wait to see your take on yoda, that’s going to be great.
Bring biggs back please, even if he would be a ghost?
Oh, I’d like to see more of Leia.
(The _character._ Get your mind out of the gutter.)
You can probably go ahead & let your mind slip back into the gutter. There’s still the “slave Leia” scene in Jabba’s palace to look forward to…
LOL! Kinda reminds me of the scene in Spaceballs when the self destruct audio countdown misses 6 (I think) and says “only kidding”.
Marvelous expressions!
