Squeeeeeeeee!
The Rebel Fleet is in trouble before their assault on the Death Star II has even begun. The penultimate episode of the Wedge Antilles Dilemma… or Fandemic. Whichever title you guys like better. Return of the Living Fans? “Send more Rebel Pilots! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!”
Some good news and some bad news… the good news first. Thanks to longtime reader, Paul B. for not only picking up a copy of the new children’s picture book by Leanne and myself, but for sending along this picture! Although we don’t think the Sith would approve, the BMS version of Darth Vader surely would, with his child-like personality. For those unaware, Leanne and I have been working on our first ever published work together, a series called Hickory Hippo. It’s a 32 page, hard back picture book for 3 and up, starring an adventurous and helpful hippo named Hickory. Each book will be seasonal, with the first just in time for winter: “Hickory Hippo and the Snow Mystery”. Hickory has to help a walking, talking snowman who has lost his nose. It’s a cute, magical world that I hope will enchant and entertain children and give a few laughs to the adults.
We would love the help of readers to spread the word and give us positive reviews through Amazon, if you feel the book merits it.

Now for the bad news… As anyone who has visited our house will know, I have a sizable collection of Star Wars nick nacks and paraphenalia. Unfortunately, I’m once again forced to sell more of my Star Wars action figure collection. For reasons that are best left unsaid for now, I am trying to raise money. I really don’t want to have to get into the details, but most longtime readers know I have health issues. I’ve gone through a fair bit, and put Leanne through it with me, and it hasn’t been easy.
While I’m not about to lose the house, I am having to prioritize expenses verses fandom. Although I would rather not part with these guys, I have come to terms with the fact that I can go on living without them. I’m keeping Biggs and Oola… for now at least! So, if you want my Jabba’s Palace diorama, with 16 figures (including Jabba, Crumb, Slave Leia, Han Solo, Boussh, Greedo, Yak Face, Bib Fortuna, Ree Yees, Tessek, Gamorrean, Ephant Mon, CZ Droid, 9D9 Torture Droid, Power Droid victim, torture rack, carbonite Solo, Jabba’s rolling platform thing, and whatever else is in the photo that I forgot to mention (shelf not included), then please consider placing a bid on this auction. I am also parting with yet another of my once MASSIVE Dalek collection: this one from the 1964 story, The Chase. I will miss the little guy. Give him a loving home!
Oh! And I’m not about to stop doing Blue Milk Special. Don’t worry! You guys are 100% of the reason BMS didn’t come to an abrupt end 4 months ago. Giving up my collectibles as a fan is easier than stopping creating as a fan. Creating only costs time and so long as we continue to enjoy it and have your support, we can’t give that up.
“What do you mean “they” cut the power?! How can they cut the power man?!”
Dust off and nuke the ship from orbit — it’s the only way to be sure.
I love my Hickory Hippo. I’ll bring it with me when I go see my nieces and nephews for Thanksgiving and see if I can drum up some sales (they’re not getting mine)!
Chain the door, and paint “Fans Alive Inside” on it.
Nice Dalek.
I believe that in The Other Universe their solution would be to beam the obnoxious and proliferating fans wholesale onto the Deathstar, “where they’ll be no fahn at ahl.” Cue a laugh montage and cut.
Loving the comic as always. I just wanted to mention that I read there is a new book coming out called Star Wars: Tarkin. I know Rod loves Peter Cushing and wanted to make you guys aware of the book. I doubt there will be any bunny slippers in it though 😉
