Geography
Luke and Threepio continue their pursuit of a seemingly crazed Wookiee. The native tongue for local place names seems to coincide frighteningly well with certain juvenile thought processes.
Take a look at that beautiful Y-Wing. THIS is what I was talking about when I said cell-shaded 3D models. They don’t look so out-of-place with the 2D traditional art because the the lighting and shadows are simpler and it looks colored, rather than textured. We have to thank Geoffrey Padilla, honorary BMS team member and 3D modeler, for his help pulling together Star Wars spacecraft to replace the shockingly bad examples and screenshots from the films used in the earlier strips. We will be working on revising the older strips, particularly the Trench Run sequence with the new models in the near future. To learn more about the 3D models being used, click here.

Wow! Until I read the text I didn’t even realise the Y-Wing was a 3D model.
I can’t wait to see an updated Blockade Runner in ‘Star Trek vs Star Wars’
Keep up the good work guys! I always look forward to reading BMS when I get home.
*facepalm* X D
You just had to go there, didn’t you?
So very grateful I wasn’t sipping my coffee while reading this. It would have been a spectacular spit-take.
I’m guessing the island is a cylinder with white cottony beaches…
LOS <- Laughs out silently… because I'm at work.
Oh sure, pull a Lucas and revamp the effects on the old strips. 😉
I like the old screen shot look of the strip.
This new way is good too, it fits in seemlessly, but I LOVE the screen shots and how they were treated in here! It was more Tongue -In-Cheek.
^_^
Considering the content & context of today’s comic, is “tongue in cheek” the kind of phrase you really want to use?…
I didn’t get it at first. I had to read the other comments below and then re-read the word in a different way.
That’s the tricky thing about puns and an international readership. Plus you spend too long trying to work it out and you expect something rewarding. I expect our pun is a poor reward, somehow.
I originally read it wrong because I saw a space between the T and the A.
Nice, it DOES look like you’ve drawn it yourself, rather than just taking a model from a film/game and putting it there. try to turn the ENTIRE trench/death star scene into this more cartoonie-look. and the spacebackground of course. keep going like this! 😉
Also, I’m not sure I get the pun… Call me noob :3
The Millennium Falcon landed in the “Sea of Blood”, nearby is the island colony of Tam Ponna – a tampon surrounded by blood
Hopefully this clears things up 🙂
LOL!!!!!!
