smi-02-09-lgThis Saturday, September 14th, sees Blue Milk Special visit Oaks, Pennsylvania for Retro Con.

It’s a small show in its second year, but the retro theme makes it the perfect place for action figure and comic collecting. There will be a Back to the Future screening after the show on Saturday night. Non-toy programming includes some classic video games, a Back to the Future time machine on display, appearances by the 501st Garrison Carida and the Philadelphia Ghostbusters, a costume contest, a spectacular raffle, a trivia contest, special guests, panels, and much more!

Leanne and I will have a table at the show, promoting BMS and our work. I’ll have copies of my comic, Once Upon a Caper, the final edition of Issue #0 in the build up to the series next year. I am now fulfilling orders myself, and have gone to a new print company with higher quality production. If you’re not sure if you’d be interested, here’s the concept in a nutshell.

ouac photo of issue 0On her 11th birthday, in 1958, Sovena miraculously received super powers that made her the most powerful hero in the world. When a giant is stomping through town, the other heroes look to Sovena to save the day. She is the Superman of her world, and she’s just a little girl… But bundled with those powers came her curse, immortality. Like Claudia in Interview with the Vampire, Sovena is trapped as an 11 year old girl. Roughly fifty six years later, she is now a 67 year old “girl”, wiser than the kids around her, but without the emotional maturing of adolescence. She has seen her friends and sidekicks lives pass her by while she goes on fighting to protect a world ignorant of her burden. Can she find a way to break her curse, and will she give up her other gifts to do so?

Meet me at Retro Con to pick up a signed copy. We’d love to see you turn out for a great time with like-minded geeks. Kevin Conn, our co-host from the Blue Milk Special PodCast will also be there, as will “Muggy”, Vader’s giant-sized Federation emblem sporting coffee mug.
