Goldenrod’s new home
Goldenrod has a new home, though he might be thinking twice about moving.
Toy Fair 2015
Leanne’s latest Transformers art appeared at Toy Fair this weekend at the Hasbro booth. These photos were taken by Danny Eardley. The Hasbro Transformers booth apparently includes security guards and was completely decked-out with artwork that Matt Tyree penciled and inked and Leanne Hannah colored. The work has kept Leanne busy and limited our efforts on Blue Milk Special over the last couple of weeks, but at least you can now see what she’s been up to.
Capital Con DC
Leanne Hannah will be Guest of Honor at Capital Con DC, Jun 19 – 21, 2015. Capital Con DC is primarily a science fiction/fantasy literature and art convention. They welcome all fans across all genres to come help grow science fiction and fantasy in the United States. They formed back in late 2012 with just an idea and the idea has expanded to a full fledging convention. It’s a premier con by the fans for the fans where you will be able to meet Leanne and myself, and heck, check out the nation’s capital in Summer while you’re at it. Leanne will be doing panels, commissions, and artwork for the show, so pick them up as collectibles.
Leanne Hannah is an illustrator who has worked for Marvel Comics, Hasbro, Scholastic, and Mattel, amongst other companies. Her most recent comic illustration work includes Casper and the Spectrals for Ardden Entertainment and Whatever Happened to Baron Von Shock? for Rob Zombie and Image Comics. In 2014, Leanne and her husband Rod published their first in a line of children’s books called Hickory Hippo, which features the fantastical adventures of a little hippo and his animal friends.
In their spare time Leanne and Rod collaborate on a Star Wars web comic called Blue Milk Special, where they lovingly poke fun at the original Trilogy of films. They are also Friends of the Legion, an honor bestowed by the 501st Legion charity cosplay organization, for their work on Blue Milk Special and charitable service.
Leanne currently lives in Maryland, loves studying history, is fiercely devoted to the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, and takes pride in her left-handedness. You can view more of her work at LeanneHannah.com
Oh, God, I miss Firefly.
Still waiting for a comic to feature Andros, Zhane, and Alpha 5, and possibly the Astro Megaship/Megazord
At our present rate, you will be waiting a while longer. We have a lot of guest characters to spot light. 🙂
Also Mal thinks the Droid can pilot the ship, there by saving Wash’s late and allowing the series to go on. Or at least let a Fox Exec take Wash’s place
Even if the series had progressed to a second season, Wash still would have died. Alan Tudyk said in an interview at the time of Serenity’s release that he spoke to Joss Whedon about killing Wash at the end of a second season because it would have made for an incredible dramatic moment that no one would have seen coming. Since they never got the second season, they incorporated it into the movie instead at his request.
I asked this question of John White and Star wars Age 9 once:
Q- What if, after the apocalypse, all original copies of Star Wars were forever lost, but the legend remained. Then one day the Archaeologists of the future were able to recover only Blue Milk Special as a story reference point. What would the ensuing movie re-makes be like?
A- Absolutely Awesome!!!
A – Absolutely!
That would be terrible… but only because we wouldn’t have the original Star Wars with us.
Robot like that, gotta be worth somethin.’ The metal, maybe. Know a scrap hauler, love to get a piece of it. Gonna have to tape that mouth shut, though…
C-3PO: I am perfectly capable of talking through a strip of duct tape over my mouth, thank you.
Inara and/or Simon would be facepalming so hard right now.
Way to go on the Toy Fair art, Leanne! Woo Hoo!!
What if you did a Hobbit crossover retroactively added to the New Hope story arc? What if this old man was looking for someone to share in an adventure, and Owen totally bursts Luke’s bubble and acts like Bilbo Baggins? That would be funny.
Well, Gollum has appeared in BMS before, so you never know!
Threepio: Oh, good heavens! A weeping angel! Don’t blink anybody!
Wicket: No problem.
Thank you, Rod! I’ve been looking for that picture since I first saw it.
CR
You know, when you finish this, you should do the prequels. It will probably be even easier to parody.
Okay, this is killing me. Who are the people behind in the diagonal uni-color clothes sitting behind our heroes?
And which of the Doctors is going to appear in the final battle?
