Han Solo the Prophet
Just thought I’d preview the latest pinup piece for my original Super Hero book, Once Upon a Super Hero that will be coming out early October. This stunning pinup by artist Mike Maihack really captures the spirit of the book and its central character. It’s a fairy tale story about a “princess” who doesn’t want the slipper… metaphorically speaking that is.
We will have the book with us for New York Comic Con and it will be available to purchase online in advance. There are more pinups at the website. Leanne is working on the front cover this week. After the issue debuts we will begin work together on a series of adventures starring the main characters. I don’t want to give away too much. I’d rather entice you to check out the 8 page preview and information on the website.
New to Blue Milk Special? Start reading from the beginning!
That’s beautiful work. I’m very inspired by this at the moment as I’m trying my own hand at it.
Today’s strip is really good – very funny.
Are you going to be selling digital editions of the Once Upon a Super Hero book? I’m less interested in having a physical copy then just reading the story.
But – but – but… there’s nothing like having the printed one. Perhaps They can do a ‘bundle’ deal? Digital and printed.
Actually, right now I’m in a dilemma. I thought DC and Marvel had the trademark on “Superhero” as one word. And that “Super Hero” was generic. But the wikipedia article implies that isn’t safe. So, the once again I may have wasted a domain name AND need to re-title the project!!!! Hells bells.
Is it too ‘generic’ for you to copyright? After you sue EVERY comic production company on earth you’ll have some spare cash to pay for another domain name.
I just realized….the First Mate and Captain of the Millennium Falcon both got makeovers! And they both look fabulous!
I just recently watched TESB….now, I realize that technically, Boba Fett got Han Solo, but the Empire was already at Cloud City to trap Luke Skywalker, using his friends as bait. So, in a way, the Empire kind of helped Boba Fett get Han Solo….sort of. At least, that’s how it played out in the film, I thought.
Yep. And that’s the point of today’s strip. Technically, all Boba did was phone Vader with Han’s location. I don’t recall Boba making the capture at all. What I recall is Lando betraying Han and Leia and leading them right into Vader’s dining room. ๐
Oh the irony… So when Fett raised any protest AT ALL to Vader – it should have been ‘Force-Choke-to-Death’ time.
Trust me, BMS will go there when we get to that scene. ๐
Sorry. Shhhh….
So, Boba is basically the Star Wars equivalent to the schoolyard snitch.
That’s such a letdown. : P Lookin’ all sexy and mysterious and bad-ass, only to be a big effing Frank-Burns-esque tattletale. Image blown in three….two….one….*poof*
See, I keep telling you people that Boba Fett just wasn’t that cool. :p The only thing he did right or really for himself in two movies was guess where Han was hiding.
I love the expressions in the final panel.
I thought you were another Boba Fett screaming fan girl, FanGirl! ๐
What is with all this hate for the Fett??
Why do you interpret it as hate? LOL. We’re just down to Earth about Fett. That’s all. There’s no denying he is the coolest looking bounty hunter that ever was or will be.
I know it’s early, but do the two of you plan on attending Megacon in March?
We don’t have any specific plans for next year just yet. However, we’ll certainly check it out. I’ve never been to a Megacon.
It’s only 31 weeks away, so you better get on it. Haha! Just kidding.
You are eeeeevil!
Wow. Han Solo’s reasoning in this strip is actually a plausible explanation for why he didn’t just give Jabba the money while he had the chance. I’ve been wondering about that, but it’s always been with the 20/20 vision of hindsight.
While I’m sure it’s asked before, either by me, or by someone else. But, when BMS gets to the end of ROTJ what are you going to do? While I know I’m sure I heard one of you say that you refuse to watch the Prequels, the question begs, will you do them? Or will you just continue where ROTJ ends, and go into the books that followed?
Thats a LONG ways away, i would imagine it would be hard to plan that far ahead for something you don’t know that you will even finish.
All right 1 final defense of Boba Fett.
Now follow me;
1- He was hired by the empire, which technically made him a goverenment sub-contractor.
2- He did very little work, but got lots of credit, making him all the more worthy of such a contract. (at least by todays goveremnent standards).
3- HE GOT PAID TWICE!!!
It’s to bad the Imperial Senate was abolished because he has all the makings of a U.S. Senator (or higher), exceptional bull-shit, good PR, a fake war record, and the appearance of effeciveness (at lease when votes are needed). My only question is; should he run on the Republican, Democratic, or an Independant ticket? They all suck today (in my opinion) so he’s got my vote regardless!
Hell why not Boba Fett for President in 2012!
His slogan could be “Who needs to ballance a budget, when your enemies just disappear?”
And if things go wrong he can just blame it on one of his clone “brothers”, I could go on and on (ad just did) ๐ .
LOL and thanks again for putting up my rants (i’d just skip me if I were you).
Be back in a week, it’s vacation time!!!!!!!!!!
He will take Micky Mouses place as the most voted for ever.
I had forgotten about Sovena. I reread the eight pages that are up, it looks to be a good story.
