Really. What’s up with that? The only traing I remember ever seeing Yoda do was some preliminary light saber training with a bunch of children. Of course, this could be where the “to whiney”,”was I any different” comes to play. Love it!
as seen in ep. 2 yoda was training a class of young-lings and as the books and such show they didn’t become padawans until they were older. it is highly likely obi-wan as well as qui-gon and dooku were in said class before becoming an apprentice
I loved plinkett’s critique of that stupid youngling (barf) training scene. They used helmets just as Luke did in the first film. But in the latter it was a brilliant improvisation by Ben. Plinkett’s gets annoyed over the lack of original ideas and rehashing of old ones in the prequels.
what i don’t get is if the characters are real then why don’t they just gang up on old George (the older of the two) and kill him and train up young George to make good plot lines
Yes, this is his first appearance (as far as I can remember) in our parody of TESB. I’ve been wanting to have him make a cameo again for a while. That Dragonball Z fight between his two selves must have taken a lot out of him.
Surely Yoda would have had something to do with his training, if not a major role.
The council seemed to have way too much of a choke hold on whatever their people did, to allow something like a youngling’s training and selection to not be micro-managed.
Now if something actually involved anything actually dangerous, such as buddying up with the Dark Side, they were oblivious, and uninterested.
Yoda was right – Luke was too whiney! He couldn’t even offer basic politeness to his host, throwing Yoda’s hospitality – shelter, a warm fire, and a meal – back in his face.
I love Yoda and Ben’s response to George!
I forgot about the finger problem until you mentioned it again just now. Look, BMS takes so much work that by the time I get one strip basically done I’m sick of seeing it. Hopefully trivial things like that aren’t noticeable the first time someone reads a strip and they can still get the gag/commentary intended. I don’t know if or when I’ll get the motivation to go back through the strips and correct the extra finger, but for now the inconsistency stays.
I am not at all displeased with all of your time and effort. I have tried starting my own strip and it has taken a couple days just to color one of them on the computer, let alone website setup. So believe me, I totally understand how much it takes out of you for wach strip. I actually tried to stop my comment from being posted because it came out as more harsh than I intended. I did offer to edit your three previous Yoda strips and my offer still stands. My love for Blue Milk Special will not be affected by a mere finger (unless it’s your middle finger).
LOL. I know. But it’s too much work for me to make BMS “perfect”. As long as it looks good and conveys the message, that’s enough. I’m not going to get as anal as Lucas about it… even though I have made revisions in the past. 🙂
Whew, I’m relived to see I’m not the only one making inconsistencies. I’ll forget to add something, forget to minus something; pretty crazy when the comic has not exceeded “hobby” status.
I don’t know what problem there was with Yoda’s fingers, but given everyone else in the cast is lacking a finger (a comic tradition I find abhorrent), I doubt I would have noticed him having the wrong number anyway.
Like seriously… anyone good enough to actually draw things for a living ain’t gonna have difficulty putting 5 digits on hands. I tend to force myself to ignore it to the best of my ability to avoid going utterly mental.
Has it come up that everyone else in BMS has four fingers, too? Obi Wan, Luke, Han, Leia, even George. I’m pretty sure they’re supposed to have five fingers. This is shaping up to be quite the revision project! Or we can just stop being so anal.
LOL Pretty soon we are going to see an Animated Rod and Leanne jumping in the strips doing edits and reedits just like old George. Now that would be fun to see!
I’ll pay out money for that. I simply MUST have every version – with all 4 cover designs – in every format – in a Limited Edition presentation case – alphabeticised on my bookshelf – with a card-index of my own making for every strip.
Has anyone written GOOD Episode 1-3 fan-fics?
I’ve been tempted to take on the undertaking as the prequals were such a disappointment, but I’m sure someone has already crafted something far awesomer than I’d ever pen…
I always tend to think that Obi meant the space Yoda would probably have had to fill after qui-gon was so brutally “interrupted”. i mean, even though he “legally”, ranked-up to knight with permission to train others, I think you’d probably need someone like Yoda to do the finishing touches of one’s training. I mean, if you’re at the end of term and your class teacher dies before he can give you your all-important final graduation tests, the principal is more likely to find a substitute rather than saying “meh you’d probably pass anyway, congratulations!”. Anyone agree with the posibility of this theory? I think it sounds fairly waterproof. still, kinda weird if obi’d jsut think “meh luke has no relation to qui and only needs to know about me and yoda who really mattered in the screwing up of his dad’s life”…
Also, i just realized, that since Yoda has only 2 fingers and one thumb on each hand, which fingers does they cover for? the thumb-index-long, or index-long-pinkie etc. I always tend to go for the “penguin theory”, as i call it. as in batman, I. e. for the penguin his misbegotten/mutated hands sorta worked like he only had a thumb, one index finger and then one really thick pinkie-finger. at least in the devito version, i think. So i tend to go with thumb-index-pinkie idea. at least that’s how his cg-model move like in the pt when he points, gestures or holds his crane/saber. and I’m pretty sure he points it like an index-finger at luke a few times in TESB, at least when he says “oooh, you mean YODA!”. i was just worried for a second when i read the latest strip for the first time that he was doing something really naughty towards old george that i won’t name here, but then i realised you wouldn’t do such *jokes* in BMS? was just thinking about the “mild adult themes” line that wasn’t written on the old layout.
Really. What’s up with that? The only traing I remember ever seeing Yoda do was some preliminary light saber training with a bunch of children. Of course, this could be where the “to whiney”,”was I any different” comes to play. Love it!
That last panel was so funny–and so validating it made up for me having to sit through all three crappy prequels. Yaay! and thank you 😀

Because the ability to use the Force is insignificant next to the potential of money?
Another Inconsistence in the movie, which I only now noticed.
Old eorge! It’s good to see him again! He #MAKESMELAUGH!
Yes, this is his first appearance (as far as I can remember) in our parody of TESB. I’ve been wanting to have him make a cameo again for a while. That Dragonball Z fight between his two selves must have taken a lot out of him.
Apparently, it doesn’t take Oozaru Gohan to beat down old George.
Surely Yoda would have had something to do with his training, if not a major role.

You mean the council had a “FORCE choke hold” ;=
Yoda was right – Luke was too whiney! He couldn’t even offer basic politeness to his host, throwing Yoda’s hospitality – shelter, a warm fire, and a meal – back in his face.
I love Yoda and Ben’s response to George!
“The boy is too whiney.”
Makes a lot more sense than the whole “too much anger I sense in him” business. Anger? Where? There was whining, but no anger.
At least the prequels got that right. The whiny apple didn’t fall far from the emo tree. >: )
‘thank you’ as in sod off? Ha ha.
Uh, sorry Rod, but if you were so upset about Yoda’s extra fingers, then why not have him just have 3 total on each hand from here on out?

So we’re not going to see a Special Edition BSM in 20 years time when you’re old and grumpy?
I’m young-ish and grumpy, Joseph! LOL. And for god’s sake, it’s BMS not BSM. Third time, man! 🙂
For the 20th Anniversary you can release Blue Milk Kai and cut out all the filler, and fix mistakes. 😀
Who needs perfection? (I should know)

Yoda needs the extra finger so he can give someone the finger properly!
Has it come up that everyone else in BMS has four fingers, too? Obi Wan, Luke, Han, Leia, even George. I’m pretty sure they’re supposed to have five fingers. This is shaping up to be quite the revision project! Or we can just stop being so anal.
…not that there’s anything wrong with that…
LOL Pretty soon we are going to see an Animated Rod and Leanne jumping in the strips doing edits and reedits just like old George. Now that would be fun to see!

Fortunately it’s not Blue Dark Milk Special. The abbr. would be BDMS. T’would be nasty to have people get a typo with THAT one.

I’ve seen outlines for 1-3 posted on reddit.com/r/starwars Some very good. Would’ve made for far better films.
