It could be a trap
The cameo in this strip are two little known characters from an obscure sci-fi show called Star Trek. The one on the left is named Mr. Spock and the one on the right is Captain Kirk. I just wanted to clear that up for our regular readers. The one on the right is Kaylee from a show called Firefly, but that’s not important for this strip.
A special thank you to longtime friend, Garrett for helping me with this strip. My Trek knowledge, while reasonable, alone was not quite deep enough.
Just a reminder, Leanne and I were interviewed by the Maryland Independent newspaper regarding our new Children’s picturebook, Hickory Hippo and the Snow Mystery. You can read the interview here. For anyone who isn’t aware, we just recently published our first children’s book together and would be grateful for any help spreading the word. Ideal for kids from 1-5 and with a touch of humor for the adults. It’s the story of an anthro Hippopotamus named Hickory who helps a talking Snowman finding his missing nose. We’ve had some wonderful feedback from parents who have bought the book and shared it with their children. You can purchase a copy through our Hickory Hippo website and both entertain some children and feed starving artists. 🙂
I am continuing to list other items on eBay including GI Joe DVDs and Batman the Animated Series action figures. Please take a look at our eBay item listings here.
Isn’t it very dangerous to put Kaylee next to Kirk?
SHHHHHH……
Not really… she likes a good time.
Only for Kirk. 😉
Confused, extras only to the end of December? 2015? Placing our order today. My daughter loves books. ( 6 years old ).
Yeah, I should have edited that part. I will throw in the extras for you if you place an order, though. Thanks!
I got great joy reading that in both Kirk and Spock’s voices.
I have seen those two somewhere before, but I can’t place it…
Maybe they were in Living Room Wars?

Kirk, complete with Shatner pauses, Spock with eyebrow lift — very excellent! The Vulcan makes a very good point. Too bad Admiral Ackbar is probably tired of listening to comments from the peanut gallery by this point!
My brother used to have a Mego Spock who would have been perfect for LRW but he was sadly lost during one of his many military moves.
Wasn’t Star um Trek the show that (oh who was it) that chick from Dallas (or was it Dynasty?) did a cameo in an attempt to boost ratings? Wasn’t it Lynda Evans?….
I’m not sure. It is hard to find copies of the episodes of the series anywhere. 😉
