Lando meets Leia
Glad we still have many of you with us after what has become a very long adaptation of The Empire Strikes Back. We still have a little way to go, but while we are twice weekly we should make some good progress. Thanks for sticking with us if you’ve made it this far.
Personally, the Cloud City portion of Empire is my favorite part of the movie. The amber sunset over the awe-inspiring Cloud City is spellbinding, and the situation into which Han, Leia, Chewie and Threepio soon find themselves is beautifully tragic. BMS Leia needs a carbonite wake up call to snap her out of Lando’s spell. It’s a shame this is what it took for Han and Leia to stop playing games and start getting real about their feelings. Too little, too late. I guess, from a cynical point of view, you could argue that Lando was just helping to advance Han and Leia’s relationship. 😉
Thanks to all who have joined the new Blue Milk Special Forum, now two weeks old! Unfortunately I’ve had a busy work week and found that the forum has been hit regularly by spammers. Until we get some mod help to alert Leanne or myself (it’s still early days), I have changed the user registration to be by admin approval only. This will keep things spam free, but has the unfortunate consequence that anyone new wanting to join will have to wait until I get a chance to approve them.
I’d love to see people hit back against the fakers out there by bringing to life some genuine discussions about Star Wars and the other hobbies we may share with one another. We hope to see more of you on the forum!
I know it may just be me, but last strip along with this one, has given me the mental image of BMS Lando, Leia and Han in bed. 😛 Leia certainly seems interested.
And monday’s comic: LMAO! That last panel just did me in. 😀

Rod, you totally need “like” and “love” buttons somewhere on your site. This one is totally “love” worthy.
Hee hee!
And next week’s preview?
Bahahahahahahahaha!!!!
I’m definitely looking forward to the next few strips. The BMS version of Han and Leia finally getting their act together has to be interesting. 🙂
Random: I think there may have been a nod to BMS in yesterday’s Darths & Droids, but it’s hard to tell for sure.
🙂 at a time when I needed a 🙂
Nuff said.
“Daaaamn….”
Lol! Also, what do you use for the word bubbles?
I do it in photoshop. Marquee tool switched to ellipse. I make the shape on a separate layer and fill it black. Then, before deselecting the ellipse, I go to the SELECT menu and choose MODIFY and then CONTRACT the ellipse about 3 pixels and fill the smaller area white. The text is all on a layer above.
The professional way to do it would be to use Adobe Illustrator, which I did for Once Upon a Super Hero and Pulverized, however it is such a pain I prefer to just get by with Photoshop. I see a lot of people use things like MS Paint, which is barely even boiler plate for that sort of work. No offense, T. I’m talking from a professional comics production point of view. 😉
Nonetheless, people use programs like MS Paint or Paintshop because they are free and can get the job done.
No offense taken!
Some day I’ll shell out some $ for some software, but for now the basics work for me. 🙂
Bwahaha, now THIS is exactly what I had in mind two years ago for the commissioned piece that I requested at the NYCC. Although I still truly love Biggs being the one to sweep Leia away from Han and Luke. Bravo! A new favorite!
“All right, you old smoothie.”
It’s almost too easy for Billy Dee, isn’t it? 😉
Bespin’s Cloud City has nothing on Endor’s Forest Moon for sheer visual clout. It is just pink clouds and a shiny spinny top, at least on the outside. Some of the inner bits of the city where Luke and Vader fight are interesting, I spose.
