That wonderful moment when you realize Star Wars paid homage to the oldest adventuring tradition since D&D… Han and Luke met in a tavern!
Well. The next best thing, really.
Now which was first? SW or D&D?? O.o
D&D of course. The first edition was released in ’74.
And of course many fantasy books like JRR Tolkien’s books have the same thing, people meeting in taverns
That’s because you can get drunk in a tavern and say to the quest-giver, “I don’t remember anything that quest you asked us to do.”
