Rebel without a cause
This is one of several retroactively added strips after realizing I brushed over scenes (and potential scenes) that would have been fun to play with. I actually had the Leia in Biggs’ cape gag ready for a while, but it was a punchline missing a setup. I think the conflict between Han and Luke is resolved instantly in panel 4 thanks to Leia pulling the rug (cape?) out from under them. It leaves the bickering Han and Luke as equals for this short moment and perhaps helps to not only bond them as friends, but to make their relationship in BMS feel much more believable and human. I’m over-analyzing, but it is, at least, fun to see the characters taking on their own life.

Fickle eh?
She walks on a little further and sees a cardbox box on the floor: “Oooh… a cardboard box. So buff and strong!”
Speaking of missed scenes, I’m surprised you didn’t play with the “I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board” line…
So much comedic opportunity there 🙂
If we played with EVERY line then we would still be half way through A New Hope. However, we may go back and fill in some spots in the future. But others we deliberately skipped in the first place because they are so obvious.
so that is where the cape was….
didn’t it used to be Bigg’s jacket rather than his cape?
