It’s funny how awful the Imperious Leader from the classic Battlestar Galactica looks compared to Cylon Number Six in the New Battlestar Galactica. Not so funny if you’re the Imperious Leader, however. Everyone has feelings. Even Cylons.
Ever read a webcomic that is quite like Blue Milk Special? Where else can you find a flying Stormtrooper, a Biggs Darklighter that refuses to die, and a Jawa giggolo? All sci-fi universes are fair game as we mix-it-up and parody the Star Wars trilogy one scene at a time.
I’m Rod Hannah, author and co-artist of Blue Milk Special, along with my wife Leanne Hannah, we have a developed a distinctive “noseless” art style for our full color cartoon strip. It’s 100% free to read online and is not published in print anywhere.
We need a new website for our 700+ strips. After 6 years of working with ComcPress, we are being forced to upgrade and import our huge archive of strips and blogs to ComicEasel. In the process many hours of work are required to make sure everything crosses over successfully and any bugs are worked out. The longer we delay, the more fragile our current website becomes due to security issues with WordPress / ComicPress.
While we have recovered our website and stabilized the situation, we have to prepare to make the transition to a new site that is powered by a theme which is actively being developed and supported.
This has always been a fan project, not a commercial one. Which means that all expenses over the years have always been paid out of our own pocket. However, in the last year, due to circumstances surrounding my health, BMS has only been able to continue with the financial support of our readers. That’s why we need to raise the funds for the new website which is crucial for BMS to be able to continue beyond December of this year.
If you can spare $5 dollars or more over the next few months as we try to hit our goal, we should get there before we know it. While we can’t sell you BMS in print, we can keep the 700+ strips online and continue to add more if we have you guys behind us. That’s why I’m starting this campaign now.
Can we reach $1000 by December?
Can you help spread the word with us?
If we can’t reach the goal then BMS is heading to the dustbin of history because I can’t afford it on my own. Hopefully, as a community of fans, we can all make an investment in the future of this webcomic.
Please, only donate what you can manage. There are some extremey generous and amazing people out there, but I don’t want anyone mortgaging their house, or upsetting their spouse! Let’s spread the word. The more small donations from a wider number of people and the more certain we can be of reaching that goal without anyone carrying too large a piece of the burden.
We’re counting on the Forciness of our fandom.

You stopped my hand at “. . .upsetting their spouse!” As a student, I’m a bit strapped for cash, but still want to sneak in a 10 or 20 your way. I’d have to plead ignorance when my wife asks where that extra 10 is for laundry, so for what it’s worth, you kept me morally sound. I’ll at least spread the word, and bid best wishes during these dark times, as the Empire closes in.
Imperious Leader and Six were both in red dresses — interesting! Continuity choice by Ron Moore et al?
I’m loving the exploration of classic villains’ feelings. 🙂
Long live BMS!
I would like to donate but there doesn’t seem to be a paypal option. Having ‘break knee caps’ as credit rating means no credit cards.
It is very easy to look back and criticize the old series.
I wonder how the re-imagined series will be remembered in 30 years, or how well it would have been received in the 70s.
BTW, 6 is a 10.
LOL
All this and no mention of the ovion hive? The ovion was the coolest figure in the bsg action figure line. And it definitely fit into my Kenner Star Wars creature cantina play set. Sigh…..and my lucifer droid was nestled among the droid factory parts, inside my remote control sand crawler.
The measure of any action figure line back then was…. How can this fit in with Star Wars. Lol.
