Something out of a dream…
Wev’e come to the end of September. October should continue the trend of a busy BMS month. Many strips, including Yoda… Y.O.D.A. Yoda.. Yo yo yo yo yoda… da da da da dun. I really have too much on my mind to say anything interesting for this update. Too much stress from my day job. At least it’s Friday. Oh, and check this out…
God – I must be as bad as you two – I kind of saw where it was going!
Oh yes – thank Christ all goddamn mighty – it’s Friday.

Artoo: Beep Tweet Woo.
Luke: What do you mean “That’s Disappointing”?
Wow for the floppys…someone has way too much free time.
He fantasizes about sex in a swamp? Well he came bloody close with Leia some months ago.
Artoo is the one dreaming about sex. π
…..?
You know what? Never mind. Best not to ask.
Hmm. Kinda makes me wonder: Do androids dream of electric sheep? And if so, what are they DOING with the electric sheep? In the BMS galaxy, anything’s possible.
Wonderful Reference Scott. Makes me wonder if you need to be V.K.ed.
Would probably give so many false positives the way my eyes act up from time to time.
“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.”
So I guess that answers that! Droids to dream of electric sheep… Ewww that doesn’t sound right.
Another V.K test here please.
@ Scott You only get 1 false + with a VK, (Voight-Kampff) then you get “Retired”, before the retest.
Heh, no need to get technical.
You know, there are a lot of droids plugging into each other in Star Wars….

I love the muddy look for R2.
How come Luke is so clean, but R2 is a mess?
Artoo was spat out of the water and landed in the mud. Luke just climbed out of the water on his knees. π
OH MY GOSH! WHEN WILL WE SEE YODA!
There’s something about Artoo covered in filth that makes it even WEIDER! Like Luke’s been keeping him in a filthy dungeon!
“BEEEP – BOOP – I promise I won’t tell the Police if you let me go – BOO-WHEEEEET”
Er, “Weirder”.
I see the plot is landspeeding along. Quite a difference from the New Hope Era of BMS. I can see gags of R2 being eaten and “him” spitting in Luke’s face. All worth missing to see Yoda and the personality that trained BMS Obiwan.
I don’t know. I wouldn’t say that the BMS TESB adaptation is moving MUCH more quickly than the one for Star Wars. We already have 56 strips up on the website and we’re only about one third of the way into the movie. For Star Wars we had about 190 strips, including a considerable diversion with Grand Moff Tarkin’s adventures. We took time inbetween the films to give some attention to pre-TESB characters that we love, and we covered The Holiday Special and Splinter with some brevity. I think we have a strip tto punctuate almost every scene in TESB, with the odd exception such as the swamp shark. We showed Luke and Artoo crashing into the swamp and even the very brief scene where Luke doubts why he even came to Dagobah. The next scene is with Vader and Piett, and the one after that is with Han and Leia on the Falcon. Yoda doesn’t show up until Luke has had a change of clothes and fully established his camp and cooking his dinner. That means no Yoda until the third week of October, at our current two strips per week output. So, if you were expecting Yoda to show up in this current scene… nope. π
I couldn’t think of any gag that was worthy stopping to illustrate for Artoo getting eaten. It seems like it an obvious scene to do a gag about, but when you actually think about it, the scene is already fairly humorous to begin with. Trying to find an even more humorous spin seems a little unnecessary and risky. I’d rather do gags when I think they are worth doing.
Well I’m honored that you feel me worthy of a drawn out response. I’m pleased to see I’m not the only one out there who is willing to take time for explanations.
OK, so I clearly have the chronology mixed up; I guess I got the “dream” line mixed up with “Something familiar about this place”.
Perhaps I’m getting the impression multiple episodes are dedicated to individual scenes. I could do the math, like calculate how many episodes on average are dedicated to a specific scene, but I doubt y’all are THAT drawn out (cough cough *8 bit theater* cough) with gags.
The only gag worthy of the swamp shark spit-up would be R2 flying through the air and meeting TKBOOB at the top of his arc.
But that would be waaaay too obtuse – so I glad you ignore my non-expressed thoughts. π
I think a very mad R2 could always come out the back end of the swamp dragon.
Talk about constipation.
Also gives a whole new meaning to Swamp Gas. π
That would work as far as needing to get a gag out of the scene, but we’re fairly restrained when it comes to toilet humor and plan to remain so. At the end of the day, I just figured we wouldn’t really be missing much if we skipped the swamp monster. π
Do you guys have anything clever planned for when Yoda steals Luke’s food (that I swear is cheese sticks)?
Thank you for pulling out the Weird Al reference.
