Splinter of the Mind’s Eye – Part 11
New to Blue Milk Special? Start reading from the beginning!
Below is Jeremy Messersmith’s song “Tatooine” made into a beautiful and innocent paper animated short by Eric Power. Thanks to BMSer Javier for turning us on to this great YouTube video earlier this week. I found the whole thing very moving and I hope you guys enjoy it too.
The fantastic Leia sketch on the right was drawn by our friend Joanne Renaud. A Star Wars fan like ourselves, Joanne has built up quite a portfolio of work with many beautifully illustrated children’s books and fantasy publications over the years which you can see on her website www.joannerenaud.com. While she not only had time to sell a couple of our prints she also spoiled us with this wonderful sketch of a very “Carrie Fisher” Princess Leia.
Speaking of help at our table, thanks also to Scott Weinstein and Gino Patti of After School Agent, without whom we may have been trapped behind our table for the entirety of the show. Thanks to Joanne, Scott and Gino we were able to take a much needed break from the ravenous hordes of BMSers… that never showed up. 😉
Another shout out has to go to Tony Leonhardt, a BMSer and professional photographer who took this great photo of Leanne and myself behind our table. Tony received one of Leanne’s coolest BMS sketches yet. If you or friends or family need a professional photographer then consider Leonhardt Photography in the Washington state area. And yes, Tony is a Dalek.
The blonde chick – ha ha. Remember what Hamill looked like in the holiday Special?
Shame on me. It was because the poor guy’s face was damaged in that accident!
Yeah, they’re definitely siblings. Not that I speak from experience or anything….
And here I thought they were brothers.
Where is her cig ?
She threw it down before kicking Luke, anticipating a royal rumble.
I’m guessing that the blond Chick is Justin Bieber…. 😉
hahahahah
I would never bet any money on her, ever.
Amen brother… though, I dislike his music genre (Christian metal head)… I don’t “hate” the kid like others do, that’s just wrong ^_^
The Yuzzem should be showing up soon. I’m looking forward to seeing what you guys have in mind for them!

BTW- They made me throw out the part that said Rod was getting a Biggs costume to play dress up, and possibly to use for promotional purposes at shows.
Rod; can you confirm or deny this, or is it destined to remain, like Jimmy Hoffa, a matter of intense scrutiny and intellectual debate?
The clip is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got 20 on the geek girl to burn the blond chick with a cig!!!!!!!!!!
oh yeah, I’ve always wondered this Blue Milk Special, will you ever introduce Religion in your comics? I think that’d be funny lol, though… only if it’s “clean Religous humor” lol
I think that’d be pretty funny… 😀
Leave religion out. No good will/would come out of it. Its a lose/lose situation. Justin Beiber in the same breath as METAL is BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No Blue Milk for you! lol
The closest BMS will get to religion is the Kaiburr Crystal = Force (SOTME) vs the Spiritual Oneness = Force (TESB). Beyond that we have no interest in taking shots at religion or contemporary politics. We won’t do Justin Beiber jokes either. That sort of stuff is too much a product of its time. While Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z gags arguably are also products of their time, I can’t help but see Bieber as a fad that is very much removed from the sort of fandom that we all have in common as Star Wars fans.
Agreed.
I KNEW Leia wouldn’t let Luke’s backhanding her in the bar slide! Go, Leia!
I love how the hero of the entire series -Luke- is so thoroughly emasculated in this strip. Can’t wait to see my sketch in full color too!
And people can hit me up on Facebook too (a website is being designed soon)

Cat Fight!
Yup, this was the scene where Leia’s clothes ripped, exposing a bit of herself, and she just flaps her loose torn clothing over the naughty bits, and the torn clothing is NEVER ADDRESSED AGAIN. No where else in the story did that flap ever somehow get jostled out of place.
