The invitation
The Emperor receives an important message from Admiral Ackbar and Mon Mothma. Will he accept… or will he be “out of town” for that weekend?
What have Leanne and I been up to? We finally wrapped a professional comics project which ate up ALL our free time last month. So nice to be able to breathe again after getting through that one. We have also been out and about with the readers for Free Comic Book Day and gave a reading of our children’s book “Hickory Hippo and the Snow Mystery” along with an art class. Below are some pics from the event.
Here I am reading the snowman’s dialogue with my nose held. The snowman is missing his nose and kids seem to love the idea of how that might make him sound. If you buy a copy from us, make sure to try reading his dialogue that way and see how the kids like it!
Hickory Hippo & the Snow Mystery can be bought from our Hickory Hippo website and Amazon.com.
Your next chance to meet us in person will be at Awesome Con on May 29-31. More in the next blog.
Hahaha….we wouldn’t want the emperor to go “maleficent” on their big day.
I agree – this could be very Disneyish if you wanted it to (which I suppose, may be appropriate). Good job finishing the comics project and very cool reading to those kids!
How exactly do the Emperor’s Dress robes differ from his day to day ones?
Please, Rod and Leanne, do not parody “The Emperor’s New Cloths” to show us this, some things are better left unseen… đ
Well, let’s face it… the Emperor is the Hugh Heffner of the galaxy. In a fashion sense, that is. I can’t quite see him swimming in hot blondes. It just seems that the Emperor does not feel the need to dress up for anything. And I have to admit, I can see the appeal of just wearing a bath robe.
Just as long as we don’t have to see for ourselves if the Emperor’s first light-sabre had a knob on the end… đ
I’m guessing he’s not going to spend much on their wedding present.
I can’t wait for Palpatine to show up at the wedding, just so we can hear Ackbar tell him the truth about why they invited him…
I was waiting for the Imperial officer to point out it was an obvious trap đ I’m glad you guys don’t use that death and I’m looking forward to see how Palpatine ends up responding. Will he force Vader to accompany him? Or call in the admiral who was knocking bunny slippers with Tarkin? [I forgot her name đ ] I am really hoping though that he sends one or two of those red robed guards of his! It seems like the perfect job for them- especially if they’re ordered to bring back the boquet at any cost đ
All I know is, I will enjoy the hell out of it!
Congratulations. “Knocking bunny slippers” has just officially entered my vocabulary, waiting impatiently for an opportunity to be said.
