The Wampa Cave #1
For our new readers I want to introduce the Blue Milk Carton FaceBook fanpage, set up by BMSketeer, T. Gatto.
It all started a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, when T. Gatto contacted General Rod Kenobi with a paper milk carton template using BMS art. We loved it! The BMS milk carton made its debut as a giveaway at Baltimore Comic Con 2010 and we quickly set about printing more. The paper milk cartons were a hit! As you can imagine, we were more than happy to put T. Gatto’s papercrafting skills to work in our Spice Mines where he labors to this very day, making all manner of Star Wars and NON-SW related milk cartons under the cruel lash of the Smoking Jawa.
The collection has grown to epic proportions and even inspired its own webcomic series Milk Carton Theater: A fan made parody of a fan made parody… OMG It’s like INCEPTION, only with fans! You should definitely get a kick! 😉 Go “LIKE” T.’s cool new Face Book fan page and check out his masterpieces.
Here’s the latest Milk Carton Theater . You can find the archive here.
HaHA, Nice!
Atta boy, Luke.
Heh that’s good! I imagine Leia packing nothing but back in the SOTME cave forced (heh heh, “forced”) Luke to develop a taste for the stuff. Who knows, it might even sharpen his wits for whatever happens.
I don’t have a Facebook page, so Mr. T, if you’re reading this, grats on your progress with all your cartons! Keep up the excellent work!
The photo of the line-up of carton art really evokes my memories of the back of Star Wars action figure packs. I spent way too much time drooling over all the figures I didn’t have! Great job with both the cartons and the photo!
Today’s comic was great, too! Though I was half expecting the wampa to have crashed his corvette on the way back to the cave…
Yep – just the way I felt when I saw them. All the figures neatly hanging in the shop before me in their shiny packs (2001 theme – kettledrums).
Thanks for all the kind words (Scott, Scotticus, and others)! I’m glad Rod has spared the lash (at least long enough for me to post a comment). 😉
With regards to the strip, at least Luke was supplied with good beer. 🙂
This begs the question because the room is so cold;
What temperature should beer be served at?
I myself prefer a frosty mug of almost Ice cold dark foamy goodness, anyone else have an opinion?
I think it would be a beersicle in that temperature. 😉
Now get back to work!
*lash* *lash*
Too cold and you can’t taste it fully. Never understood the fondness for ice-cold beer and wine.
I think Ice-coldness (yes I just made that word up) applies to most kinds of non-posionous-to-drink-for-a-human (yes made that up too!) liquids. Since I don’t drink beer or any luiqor/alcohol (not sweet enough, my mouth only has sweet teeth :3 ), but love coke and pepsi, I still prefer them in room-temperature than ice-cold. Well maybe a LITTLE ice-cold but not like it feels you’ve just frostburned your entire gum (for some reason i neer get brainfreeze, it never spreads beyound my cake & pie-hole. Mmm, cake… Pie? mebeh…) =3
Cold masks subtle flavors, so junk beer and wine are drunk cold to mask their nastiness. Good beer and wine should be cellar temperature, meaning warmer than refigerator but cooler than room temp.
Most wine is okay to drink at any temperature (though I have never met a white I will call anything but swill), but even good beers are plain nasty at anything approaching room temperature. Just above freezing works best. Honestly, though, give me a good hard cider over beer any day.
Funnily enough, I was just looking at that photo of Mark in the x-wing cockpit with the can – it’s deja vu all over again!
Excellent strip today, and awesome line up, T!
Row 5, 3 from the left. Does that guy NOT look like a phallus with tumors?
I thought that when making Hammer-Head, but then I thought “only a demented sicko would make that mental leap”, thanks for supporting my hypothesis (fellow sicko). 😉
BTW it does give a new meaning to balls on the chin, when the balls in fact are the chin in question. ;=
(I wonder if this makes it past the rigerous BMS Censors)
zzzzzzzz…. snort…. what? Did I miss censoring something? zzzzzz….
the wrods “censoring” and “making” made me think of the yet-to-come SW: ToR ( http://www.swtor.com/ )
The fun thing is that it holds almost only OT-insipired content and no prequel-hints what-so-ever, yet the factions are obviously based on the Clone Wars republic, and the Sith Empire” being some hybrid between seperatists and Galactic Empire. being an OT-fan to the max Rod, you really should check it out, especially the tatooine, hoth, smuggler, bounty hunter, jedi and trooper entries. I mean, even a 10-year old who gets most of his sw expierence fro mthe current cw show should be able to draw the ToR hints to the OT 🙂
Actually, the factions are based on a massive amount of Expanded Universe content, revolving around a, “Knights of The Old Republic” series. Set originally 4,000 years before the OT. The technology, apparently changed very little over such time; however, KOTOR was a masterpiece of a game and story. Obvious parallels existed with the OT factions, such as the Sith Empire being well, like The Empire and The Republic being very much like The Rebellion, but as a galaxy-wide government.. The original tale, “KOTOR” revolves around Darth Revan, a compelling, well written tale that every Star Wars fan should check out. ToR lore is well fueled by EU revolving around that era, and looks well crafted. Frankly, the lore alone could support a trilogy rivaling the OT in quality, if done correctly. Not likely, however. But no; nothing is based on the prequels, or vice versa. You’d be surprised how much EU DOES tie in with current content. Sometimes it conflicts, sometimes it doesn’t.
Sorry, rant-time comes rarely for me.
Umm, you’re welcome?
You’re being ridiculous. It’s a phallus with eyes.
I believe that one is known only as “the Hammer“.
(And much like Scotticus I too thought of the back of Star Wars action figure packs when I saw that milk carton collection. How could I not? Surely it was intended to evoke such memories!)
Exactly right.
I was going to use a yellow towel, but at the last minute I decided a blue one would fit the BMS strip better.
I also used a towel, instead of a sheet, as a Douglas Adams tribute.
ALWAYS KNOW WHERE YOUR TOWEL IS!
It looks green, or teal colored to me.
Teal maybe, but definitely more blue than green.
Maybe the photo, or lighting, does not do it credit?
Whatever the color, it looks beautiful! It’s very eye catching and punchy.
Do you guys have an endorsement deal with Beck’s? Because I bought a case last night after reading this comic.
THis could have been the greatest beer commercial ever.
I don’t remember seeing the Momaw Nadon one before! The collection looks very good all together like that.
