Leia’s Last Chance
This is one of those anal Star Wars facts that you probably either didn’t know, or didn’t care to know. Peter Cushing, the B-movie god of horror films in the late 50s through to the mid 1970s, had pretty large feet, and very sensitive ones at that. Throughout Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, “no long shots were taken of Tarkin, because Cushing refused to wear the boots that the wardrobe department had provided for the character, on the grounds that they were not comfortable. Instead, he wore slippers.”
WE FINALLY FOUND A PHOTO OF TARKIN IN SLIPPERS!!!! Up until now it only seemed natural that he would have been wearing fluffy animal head slippers. We still like ours better.
Yes, this is probably the sort of strip that makes BMS inaccessible to the mainstream, but you can’t please everyone all of the time.

I can’t watch New Hope without laughing now…Damn you!
Actualy even before I ready the backstory Tarken wearing bunny slippers and using them as an excuse is funny
Thanks! We think so! 😉
lol he looks like a german officer without those boots, the way his pants poof out like pilot’s pants XD
I’m more interested in his parachute pants. Is that really what those uniforms look like? Really?
Now I can’t stop imagining how Lucas SHOULD have updated the Ep. IV…
Non-stop Tarkin facekicking action… In bunny-slippers!
“… to your fleet, maybe…”
*FACEKICK*
“…but not to this battla-station!”
So bada**!
I misspelled battle-station..
In the photo are they just aiming the superlaser to Alderaan. Quite small equipement, but powerful!
Strange. I have no memory of Tarkin wearing Jodhpur riding britches. I’ll have to check that out!
All the Imperial uniforms had Jodhpurs.
