Wobbly Props
Evee NineDeeNine has an interesting design, though not entirely convincing when it comes to getting out of her seat and moving. If you watch the scene closely, you’ll see her wobbling about in an unusual pelvic thrusting motion, as if balanced precariously over the heads of… oh I don’t know… puppeteers? 😉
I suggested Leanne give Jim Henson a cameo and she threw in Frank Oz for good measure! Oh, and this is the first appearance by George Lucas in some time. Can anyone name the last strip he appeared in? It’s been a good while.
I’m having trouble typing at the moment. Nerve problems. But just wanted to say that Morgan’s birthday was on November 9th and a party was organized with the 501st’s Old Line Garrison. Earlier this year Leanne and I put together a special piece of artwork for Morgan to be given to her at the event. A collection of Star Wars toys were also given to Morgan donated by fans from all around the world. Here’s a note from her mother.
“Yesterday we had Morgans 9th birthday party her first birthday without having her silly loving sisters to make her laugh and smile to help her blow out the candles. It was a very emotional day for all of us. Thank you to all of the folks at Old Line Garrison, 501st Legion for helping surprise her with such an amazing experience. Thank you Emily (Schram, 501st Legion) for contacting us so many months ago and wanting to bring a little joy after we had been through such a huge sorrow. Thank you all for all the amazing gifts and cards you collected for her. There are just not enough words to describe how special this was or how excited she still is. Thank you for bringing a smile for all of us on such a difficult day.”
Morgan lost both her sisters in a house fire early this year. Leanne put together an illustration of Morgan’s favorite Star Wars characters, which I colored and framed as our donation to Morgan. I’m very proud to have been a part in bringing a magical moment to a child and family that needed one. A special thank you to the Old Line Garrison for their amazing efforts on behalf of Morgan. You guys are outstanding!
We are aiming to be back on Friday with another strip straight from Jabba’s boiler room. I can’t really type much more, so just copying and pasting my health details from my GoFundMe campaign page.
“I haven’t updated for the last few days as I’ve been a little slow to do everything as I attempt to manage the pain and get on with life’s necessities. I’ve got a third procedure lined up for Dec 5th.
“It’s called an Occipital Nerve Block and will inject steroids into the nerves at the back of my head to reduce inflammation and pain. I’ve had similar procedures for my cervical facet joints over the last two years with no observable effect, however the pain has always been centered around my Occipital Nerves, areas that have never been directly treated until now.
“I’m optimistic that this might finally target the direct source of most of my non-arthritic pain. The Occipital pain causes deep muscle aches and headaches that have been with me since 2009. In the meantime I’m using new pillows in an effort to sleep and improve my ability to heal during the night. So, perhaps sometime in December I will start to notice a difference for the first time in 4 years!”
If anyone is a fan of Rugby, then you might be interested in my new website Rugby Frontier. Leanne is doing some nice artwork for some of the player profiles. Rugby Frontier is also on Twitter. It’s biased toward the New Zealand All Blacks, but I will be covering the Rugby World Sevens tournament this coming weekend which is a little more universal. It will be part of the Olympics starting with Rio in 2016. The World Sevens is a great opportunity for people who don’t know much about the sport to jump in and take a look.
Thanks as ever for your belief in us! Without you guys there would be no Blue Milk Special.
Loving the RotJ strips!! A little concerned about your health though…hope all is ok now.
Love the AllBlacks, BTW. I’m not a kiwi, but loved being in NZ (Auckland) for my 2month exchange program. Looking forward to seeing Leanne’s version of Tana Umaga.
Evee seems to be taking all this in stride. Now that’s dedication to her craft!
May Forciness be with you and Morgan!
EV 9D9 was a great looking vintage Kenner figure, very hard to find though, and the arms tended to break off.

GREAT work by the 501st!
I actually have her LEGO minifig, from an ol Jabba’s Palace set. Ofc, both she and the palace has in the years since been strewn about in pieces in every possible box o’ bricks I still have x3
Rugby football? Say those two words next to each other an I’ll…I’ll…Be very displeased.
I know. I used the old terminology since most of our BMS readers are American and know next to nothing about rugby. So the old terminology was used to help clarify what sort of sport it is. I’ve edited it now as you’ve made me think twice.
Get well!
Go, All Blacks!
I’d thought EV’s wobble it look insane, and therefore more dangerous. R2 seemed disconcerted . . .
My prediction….. Both jabbas will make an awkward appearance either as a identity theft or continuity paradox issue. Oh and i would also hope (seeing as how u have brought the books into the universe) that Mara jade will make an appearance in the backround somewhere. Even though jabba wouldn’t let her on the barge. Call it a minor cameo. lol
Just loving these strips.
EV 9D9 and 8D8 were my personal favorites to draw during the Dork Side days – they were in the best gags IMO.
As an ex-hooker, I can only wish you the best for the new site 🙂
go springbucks!!!
