Star Wars BSG rescue
The developing story of Captain Apollo and Starbuck in the Star Wars (BMS) universe continues in today’s strip. For those of you who are new, or just rusty on the BMS continuity so far, below are their previous appearances to help bring you up to speed. How will the story change now that Apollo and Starbuck are more than just cameo roles in BMS? That’s right, they are here until the end… unless they meet a sudden and fatal end a little sooner than the Second Death Star. Who knows?!
* Don’t forget, you can join the growing list of BMS subscribers who get to see strips a day early and get hi-res art and personalized thank you’s, sketchcards and more!*
If you’re not familiar with the original Battlestar Galactica show, don’t worry, I’m really green when it comes to the show myself. However, I can’t stop myself from loving the costumes, ships and the series’ two lead stars. Especially since Richard Hatch is left-handed like Leanne and myself. Here’s a video of the intro to the series which might help give people a taste of classic Battlestar Galactica.
I tried watching the 2003 BG reboot, and it started of nicely but soon became too much for me with all the feminism/sexism, the idiocracy of Baltar and the whole “God wants me to save your soul through genocide, orgies, violence, drugs, corruption, lies, mockery of the concept of love and faith, and I will act like a toal bitch if I don’t get what I want”, all of which were obvious attempts to agressively discredit Christians as major villains and promote atheism and loose mysticismbas ulimate heroes. UGH.
I guess I just should have watched the originals, but I guess i just prefer Sw asa sci-fi that isn’t really that “alien” to our own societies, and which has that believable world go hand in hand with a functioning “mythology”.
I am inclined to wonder just how much trouble those two knuckleheads can get into.
I think Greedo’s cousins have some competition in the inept stupidity category. 🙂
If nothing else, the experience has been good for their health — dancing is good exercise. Luke should get them to tell him where the Galactica is. They’re going to need ships soon to serve as target practice for Death Star II.
Spoilers! I have this thing all worked out.
Hah, sounds interesting :3
Starbuck is looking a little clingy there.
